First Test Ashes ENG versus AUS probable lineups: Check Australia vs. England Predicted Starting XIs

Following its victory over India in the World Test Championship final, Australia is ready to face England in the legendary Ashes Test series.

The sides have already begun to play mind games when England announced their lineup two days before to the test match. Several prominent players are absent from the lineup as Mark Wood, an English pacer, has been benched. For the forthcoming match at the Edgbaston Stadium, the hosts have selected seasoned players like Stuart Broad and James Anderson. The England team was dealt another blow as their great spinner Jack Leach was forced to withdraw from the series due to a stress fracture in his back.

Due to a leg injury sustained last year, Jonny Bairstow will not be able to play for Ben Foakes. After having outstanding Sheffield Shield seasons, Michael Neser and Cameron Bancroft’s lack of consideration in Australia’s first team announcement raised some questions. As seen by his performance against India in the World Test Championship final, Steven Smith is back in form.

Due to David Warner’s recent slump in performance, there have been rumors that he would not play in the Ashes Test series against England. He will probably be selected, however, for the Birmingham Ashes Test 1 game at the very least. See the likely lineups for England vs. Australia.

Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jonathan Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Stuart Broad, Ollie Robinson, and James Anderson make up the England starting XI.

David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, TM Head, C Green, AT Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (C), Mitchell Starc, SM Boland, and Nathan Lyon make up Australia’s probable starting lineup.
